Dictionary capabilities
Everyday lookup, deeper exploration
Semantide is a general-purpose multilingual dictionary. Start with meanings and translations, then explore the extra information supported by each language and entry.
What each dictionary supports
Implemented means the capability is available for supported entries. Partial means coverage or behavior depends on the source data, word class, or browser. Unsupported means it is not currently offered. No dictionary guarantees every word or every possible spelling.

For reading, writing, and learning at every level
Basic vocabulary, less common words, and specialist senses can appear together in the source dictionaries. Beginners, intermediate and advanced learners, fluent readers, teachers, and translators can use the same lookup experience. JLPT labels are Japanese study aids rather than limits on what you can search.
Examples and pronunciation
Japanese entries may include source examples and translated sentences. French and English entries may include Wiktionary usage examples, with additional Tatoeba sentence searches. Chinese supplies definitions and Pinyin, with a separate sentence collection; CC-CEDICT entries do not include inline examples. Audio uses browser speech and available human recordings; availability depends on the word, language, and browser.
Some Chinese characters also display available KanjiVG stroke diagrams for shared characters. KanjiVG is a Japanese resource, so these are not a comprehensive Mandarin stroke-order reference.
On smaller screens
Search, dictionary entries, and vocabulary collections use responsive layouts. Semantide is a web application you can use on a phone or computer; there is currently no native mobile app.
